Rejuvenation has been made easy for Murphy residents! Experience the wonders of Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive treatment to rejuvenate the skin.
What is Microneedling exactly?
Microneedling, as the name implies, utilizes micro needles to rejuvenate target areas of the skin. The micro needles are on the tip of an electric pen (Eclipse Micro pen) tool that glides across the skin. The needles create tiny punctures in the dermis, causing it to react by healing itself. Once this healing process starts, it gives the skin a chance to repair scarring, create collagen (which treats wrinkles and fine lines), thus providing you with smooth skin. This treatment can be used on the face, neck and hands as well as stretch marks on the abdomen and thighs. For more profound results, traditional microneedling treatment can also be combed with Radio frequency heat and PRP (platelets rich plasma).
Does it Hurt?
At Revive Med Spa, Prior to beginning the procedure, we apply a topical numbing cream specially made via a compounding pharmacy.
Most patients say their experience was virtually painless. Following your Microneedling treatment, You will experience some redness and mild swelling for 2 to 4 days. You may even notice a slight bruising or several tiny blood spots, but they will disappear in 24 to 48 hours. Your skin will become smoother and radiant in a week.
Difference between Microneedling and Laser Treatments
Lasers, while they can be very effective, simply aren’t always the best option for everyone. For one, lasers aren’t always safe to use on all skin types. This fact can make some patients wary of seeking laser treatment, but there is still hope for rejuvenation nonetheless! With Microneedling, there is no high risk. Not only is it a chemical-free treatment, but it doesn’t require any heating or cooling of the skin, which may damage surrounding tissue. It simply allows your skin to repair itself in the safest way possible. Laser treatment is also less comfortable for most patients.
